Seed keywords: build better starting points for research
Seed keywords are starting inputs used to expand a topic. Good seeds represent the real entities, problems and language of the market rather than a random list of broad terms.
Use several seed types
Include product categories, problems, desired outcomes, audience names, use cases, mechanisms and established terminology.
Add competitor evidence
Competitor domains can reveal vocabulary you missed. Use them to expand the research universe, not to copy a site page for page.
Keep seeds broad enough to expand
A seed should open useful branches. If a seed is already an ultra-specific query, it may be better treated as an idea found during expansion.
