Search intent: understand what the query is really asking for
Search intent is the outcome a searcher expects from a query. Matching that outcome matters more than using an exact phrase a certain number of times.
Read the SERP before assigning intent
Labels are useful shorthand, but the search results are the strongest practical clue. Look at page types, formats, brands, features and repeated angles.
Separate intent from wording
Two phrases can look different yet produce nearly identical results. Another pair can share most words but require different destinations.
Use intent to prevent duplicate pages
When multiple keywords want the same answer, combine them into one strong page. Split only when the searcher needs a different outcome.
